VxCloud Cloud VPN provides site to site virtual private networks (VPNs) to secure traffic. No additional data centre equipment is required if IPsec VPN is already available. The ability to use any internet connection has changed the way the Cloud VPN, Edge devices and Gateways are deployed. Multiple branch devices are deployed to provide VxCloud integration with Azure and can be access from multiple SD-WAN sites in South Africa. Normal internet traffic such as LTE, ADSL, FTTH, Fibre and Metro Fibre is used to create the high availability Azure VPN gateway access. VxCloud gateways are deployed locally to South Africa and managed by VxCloud.

VxCloud Edge

VxCloud Edge is available as a compact CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) that is easy to configure and supports flexible service selections and additions. The VxCloud Edge improves upon traditional on-premises services that typically require a dedicated function appliance per service which then leads to a proliferation of boxes in branch offices. The Virtual Edge has been tested with all South African LTE service providers, the design is equipped to support 4 x LTE USB connections, 2 x External WAN connections and 2 x SFP Fibre connections.

We have performed multiple test scenarios to cater for small medium and large enterprises. The cost of the solution can be applied to as small as 10 user clients up to clients as large as 5000 users. Our focus is to create a cloud solution that is easy to use, OPEX driven and stable.

Azure and AWS

VNets are isolated from one another. Clients can create separate VNets for development, testing, and production that use the same CIDR address blocks. Conversely, Clients can create multiple VNets that use different CIDR address blocks and connect networks together. You can segment a VNet into multiple subnets. Azure provides internal name resolution for VMs and Cloud Service role instances connected to a VNet.

O365 Ready Azure Internet Connectivity

All Azure Virtual Machines (VM) and Cloud Service role instances connected to a VNet have access to the Internet, by default. You can also enable inbound access to specific resources, as needed. VxCloud uses the clients Microsoft licensing benefits and funding to create O365-Azure integration.

Security

VxCloud SD-WAN and Azure Vnet integration is already setup and tested for clients. Azure VPN Gateway services are used to provide secure networking integration. Connectivity is provided as part of the VxCloud SD-WAN interconnected service. We provide access to South African peering points resulting in improved Azure WAN Access and integration.

Azure Networking Devices

VxCloud can also integrate SD-WAN VPN gateways into other gateways such as Fortinet, Cisco and Palo Alto deployed in Azure as virtual services. This will be done according to client requirements.

VxCloud SD-WAN is focused at clients that have invested in cloud applications such as O365, Google Salesforce and Others. The internet is used as the network and measures are put into place to provide bandwidth optimization and Quality of Experience.
VxCloud SD-WAN architecture has the ability to coexist with the installed network, as well as deploy in phased stages. VxCloud unique cloud network of distributed gateways offered as a service further enables incremental integration into existing networks. As an Example, data centres can be connected without installing nor replacing any equipment in the data centre via secure tunnels from existing routers to the cloud network. Bring your Own Internet or MPLS and we can integrate the VxCloud SD-WAN.
VxCloud SD-WAN delivers holistic application “Quality of Experience” with local prioritization and bandwidth allocation as well as steering between links and remediation of link quality issues. Granular application recognition, simple business prioritization policies and continuous monitoring of available link capacity and quality drive VxCloud Dynamic Multi-Path Optimization. Application flows can be shifted on a per-packet basis, mid session, between different links or split across links. This ability combined with on-demand remediation including error correction and jitter buffering enables use of broadband Internet as an integral part of an enterprise grade WAN. Priority or network sensitive traffic eg VOIP, video conferencing, etc no longer must require nor be limited to private/MPLS circuits to meet SLA objectives. The Edge can coexist with or replace the branch edge router.
No latency is introduced. Our SD-WAN design has all forwarding decisions made locally, for all circumstances including blackouts and application performance brownouts, based on local path and performance metrics monitoring. The endpoints that are in the data path add less than 1msec of latency.
The data plane with all tunnel endpoints will continue full functions even when separated from the control plane, as a principle of our SD-WAN design. Only policy and configuration updates from the VxCloud Orchestrator will be temporarily unavailable.
VxCloud network delivers the expected benefits of cloud scaling, redundancy and pay-as-you-go flexibility. Edge endpoints monitor VxCloud gateway availability, as well as path performance metrics, and immediately switch to alternate VxCloud gateways that are deployed as redundancy.
We use tools to provide accurate TCO calculations based on workload scanning, planning and forecasting. These tool can be used once off or continuously in order to manage cloud based workloads and cost.

The SD-WAN solution can use any network to create enterprise based networking services. The perception that MPLS is still the best network is changing and no longer applies to services that are accessed in the cloud.
